Strategic Agendas

The Post-2015 Development Agenda - is an initiative of the United Nations with a contribution by Fiocruz to promote the inclusion of health, linked with the economic, social, and environmental dimensions in the context of sustainable development. The Foundation studies the impact of mega-projects, biodiversity, climate changes, and basic sanitation and their effects on health and citizenship.

South American Institute for Health Governance (ISAGS) - Fiocruz Global Health Center participated in the Institute’s implementation and supports the consolidation of this inter-governmental body of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur) dedicated to promoting exchange, critical discussion, knowledge management, and generation of innovations in the fields of health policy and governance. ISAGS also holds courses and seminars, and conducts health systems management studies in the member countries.

The Center for Bioethics and Diplomacy Studies in Health (NETHIS) - was created with participation by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the University of Brasilia (UNB) and has its headquarters in the FIOCRUZ Office in Brasília (DIREB). The center’s objective is to build bridges between public health and international relations, connecting the themes of health diplomacy and bioethics. Among other issues, NETHIS deals with the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, regulation of research in human subjects, the Health Economic-Industrial Complex (HEIC), and access to health technologies. NETHIS also promotes debate series and seminars, studies, and publications in its area, besides maintaining a specialized virtual library.
