Leprosy, tuberculosis, and malaria are communicable diseases that, although considered public health problems, can be treated. They are neglected diseases because they are manifested in conditions of poverty and contribute to the maintenance of inequalities. More than one billion people are affected by neglected diseases, representing one-sixth of the world's population. Although preventable, late diagnosis can lead to death. If manifested and left untreated, they can affect people's quality of life. Therefore, early diagnosis of the patient´s condition and surveillance of patients' contacts are essential for controlling the disease and improving the population's quality of life.
It is a portable kit, complete with all the necessary reagents and instruments to perform molecular tests to diagnose neglected communicable diseases (Malaria, Leprosy, or Tuberculosis) directly at the point of care. Molecular tests are admittedly more sensitive and specific than serological tests or those based on culture or optical microscopy.
It can be performed by minimally-trained technical personnel, requiring only electrical power, in any location. All information is recorded on the computer software with different levels of accessibility, ensuring the confidentiality of the results.
