Nisia, who was also the first woman to be Fiocruz's president, was chosen by president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The executive director of the Foundation, Mario Moreira, was named acting president of Fiocruz
The Foundation delivers, on average, 120 million annual doses to the National Immunization Program, a number that increased during the pandemic. Fiocruz’s immunizers portfolio comprises 12 products, including vaccines against COVID-19, yellow fever, polio, and MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
The unprecedented study carried out by Fiocruz and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) analyzes the consequences of inadequate management of the pandemic for children and teenagers
