PROCC develops and manages health surveillance initiatives, using advanced platforms and innovative technologies to monitor and analyse epidemiological and genomic data. Find out more about our main initiatives and their impact:
Infogripe is an essential platform for monitoring Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). Launched in 2017, the platform provides alert levels and trend analysis based on data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). The data is presented by state and by surveillance regions for flu-like syndromes. The Infogripe team, coordinated by Dr. Leonardo Bastos, works in collaboration with the Fiocruz Genomics Network to assess the impact of new variants and serve on advisory committees for the Ministry of Health.
Infodengue is an alert platform for arboviruses such as dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. Developed in partnership with FGV, the platform uses an integrated analysis of climate, epidemiological and social media data to provide alerts and reports. Dr. Claudia Codeço, Dr. Oswaldo G. Cruz, Dr. Leonardo Bastos, and Dr. Flavio Coelho.
CABGen is a web application for genomic surveillance, developed in partnership with the Paraguayan Ministry of Health. This tool allows genomic data from bacterial isolates to be analysed, facilitating the control and prevention of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The project is coordinated by Dr. Fabricio Alves and includes the collaboration of several institutions, such as UERJ, UFF, LNCC, UnB and Palm Beach Atlantic University.
