The newly appointed director of the Pasteur Institute, Department of Technology and Scientific Programs, Cristophe D’Enfert, visited Fiocruz on September 26. D’Enfert came to Brazil with two senior researchers of the French Institute to participate in the 1st Symposium on Fungal Infections Immunopathogenesis, which took place at Carlos Chagas Institute (ICC/Fiocruz Paraná), between September 27 and 29, 2019.
During their time in Rio de Janeiro, they visited Manguinhos campus and Fiocruz Castle and met representatives of the institution at the Center for International Relations in Health (Cris/Fiocruz). The Vice-President of Research and Innovation in Health (VPPIS/Fiocruz), Marco Krieger, the French Cooperation Adviser Ilka Vilardo and the Regional and National Integration Strategy Coordinator, Wilson Savino were present.
The meeting addressed the relations between both institutions in terms of technology platforms. The Pasteur Institute and Fiocruz have a historic cooperation and signed a new agreement this year renewing the scientific partnership.
