On August 8, from 11am to 1:30pm (Brasília time), the Virtual Seminar Social Participation and Health Emergencies will be held. The event will include the launch of the new trilingual course Tools for addressing public health emergencies in the context of civil society, available on the Fiocruz Virtual Campus in Portuguese and in English and Spanish on The Global Health Network (TGHN). In addition to the course, the Policy Brief Virtual Ethnography of Social Movements in the Context of COVID-19: Collective and Community Experiences in Latin America will also be launched, available in three languages on the TGHN research page. These products are the result of a close partnership between the Fiocruz Hub at TGHN, coordinated by researcher Flávia Bueno, and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Studies and Research in Emergencies in Public Health (NIESP), coordinated by researcher Gustavo Matta.

To celebrate the launch, will be promoted a round of conversation with seven social movements and civil society organizations, which will tell about their experiences in the response to COVID-19. There will be three from Brazil (Associação Lótus, LabJaca and Comunidades Catalizadoras); two from Ecuador (Coalición Nacional de Mujeres del Ecuador and CONFENAIE - Lanceros Digitales) and two from Mexico (Movimiento por Nuestros Desaparecidos and Comunidad San Francisco Cherán).

The event will have simultaneous translations Portuguese-Spanish and can be followed by the Youtube channel of Video Saúde - Portuguese and Spanish.
