A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the UNFPA headquarters, in New York. The signing took place during the UN High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development. Intensifying South-South cooperation by promoting health for children and the young, as well as maternal health, reproductive rights and fight against gender violence were the priorities identified for the beginning of the partnership.
The partnership was signed between Fiocruz and the Oxford University and it defines the establishment of a sharing center by Fiocruz, incorporated to The Global Health Network online platform. One of the goals is to qualify, with virtual courses, health research and work force in Portuguese-speaking countries.
During her visit, the vice-mayor took time to get to know the place of the future building of the Center for Technological Health Development (CDTS/Fiocruz).
The topic of the meeting was the cooperation strategies for universal health coverage and primary healthcare, theme of a high level meeting in the next UN General Assembly.
The Pasteur Institute inaugurated the Scientific Pasteur-USP Platform at the University of São Paulo (USP), on July 4. The platform is the result of a partnership between the Pasteur Institute, USP and Fiocruz signed in 2015.
