Fiocruz participated in the Lancet Countdown report which highlights the increased global temperature is already being felt in human health in events such as current heat waves, increased spread of vector-borne diseases and in the food security of the population. With the global report, specific recommendations were made for some countries, including Brazil.
Stereotypes that migrants are disease carriers who present a risk to public health and are a burden on services are some of the most prevalent and harmful myths analysed by the UCL-Lancet Commission on Migration and Health, with Fiocruz participation.
As one of the cohosts of the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation Conferences (G-STIC), that took place in Brussel, Belgium, between 28 and 30 of November, Fiocruz prepared a special hotsite with the most innovative health technologies developed by its researches.
Forty years after the Alma Ata Declaration, Fiocruz formed a working group that prepared a document for Astana, positioning in favor of the Primary Health Care, the universal right of health and universal public systems of health.
"Fiocruz is a legacy for Brazil that focuses on something dear to the heart of UNFPA: to improve the lives of young people, so they can thrive and move forward with equity," said Natalia Kanem at a meeting at the Foundation.
The study shows how mothers and families are also affected by the Congenital Zika Syndrome. In Brazil, a mother is as vulnerable as her child born with microcephaly, as well as the other women involved in this child daily care.
A new study by IFF / Fiocruz demonstrates the relationship between altered bladder function and zika virus infection during gestation and points to the importance of early treatment of the disease.
Under the coordination of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and Fiocruz, through the Global Network of Human Milk Bank, the initiative represents an important milestone for the reduction of infant morbidity and mortality.
Education programs such as a joint doctorate, exchanges and workshops were some of the suggestions to strengthen cooperation. Among the topics of interest are the use of big data and chronic and infectious diseases.
The tool has the purpose of providing institutional news with interest to the international community in a more dynamic way.
