Fiocruz hosts the G20 National Public Health Institutes Conference in Rio de Janeiro

Representatives from National Public Health Institutes produced a draft that will form the basis of a declaration to the G20 Health Ministers. They urge the bloc to support the organization of new conferences in its scope and to back the "IANPHI Roadmap for Action on Health and Climate Change"

Fiocruz publishes letter in defense of health sovereignty in the Global South

Ten organizations signed the Rio de Janeiro Declaration, a letter in defense of health sovereignty in the innovation and development of diagnostics, vaccines and medicines to face international health emergencies in the Global South. The document was released at the Global Pandemic Preparedness Summit

Foundation launches Certification Program for Human Milk Banks for cooperating countries

The initiative aims to meet the demands of the Brazilian national public health system (SUS) and the cooperating countries in terms of food and nutritional security in the care of newborns and infants. The launch also marks the implementation of the program in Cape Verde, Guatemala and Paraguay

Study shows impact of the pandemic on health indicators in 185 countries

Research by Fiocruz Minas made a projection for the period 2021/2030. Countries with the lowest incomes could see a 16% drop in the 43 indicators assessed, a much more significant decline than the 3% estimated for high-income countries

Foundation is part now of Africa CDC Emergency Advisory Group

The president of Fiocruz, Mario Moreira, joined the Emergency Advisory Group set up by the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC). The group acts as the main advisory body to the director, a position held by Jean Kaseya
