Natalia Kanem, who is also Executive Director of UNFPA, advocated for the 2030 Agenda and the rights of women and young populations. She also remembered the 25 years of the International Conference on Population and Development, known as Cairo 94, which recognized for the first-time reproductive rights.
The Foundation organized a task force in support of the Ministry of Health to provide humanitarian aid for the victims of cyclone Idai, which struck Mozambique on March 14. For its historical cooperation and language proximity, Fiocruz is an estrategic partner for the National Institute of Health.
In Buenos Aires, PABA+40 recalled 40 years of South-South cooperation and discussed its importance for the Sustaintable Development Goals implementation. Fiocruz was represented by its former president Paulo Buss.

Tuberculosis is one of the largest causes of deaths in the country, which faces one of the highest incidence rates in the world, with an estimated 498 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
